Table Top Chain Conveyor with Buckets for a Bolt Factory: PT Insastama Kediri Project

Bolts coming out of the forming machine have to move straight up to the next machine. For work like this we use a table top chain conveyor with buckets.

What is a table top chain conveyor?

A table top chain (TTC) conveyor has a surface made of flat, interlocking chain plates. The plates run in a guide track, so the surface stays stable even under heavy loads. Compared with a rubber belt, a plate chain wears much more slowly and does not tear or scratch easily.

A TTC can run straight, around curves, or up an incline. For inclines, the chain is fitted with flights or buckets so products do not slide back. This type of conveyor is common in food and beverage, packaging, automotive and metal component plants.

Why it suits bolts

Bolts are small, heavy, hard-edged and come in large numbers. On an ordinary belt, the surface quickly gets scratched and worn. A plate chain handles bolts dropping on it all day, and the buckets carry them up without spilling.

The project: PT Insastama Kediri

PT Insastama in Kediri is a bolt and nut manufacturer. On one of its production lines, the flow works like this:

  1. Coiled wire goes into the forming machine (cold heading).
  2. It comes out as a blank bolt: hex head and shank, no thread yet.
  3. The blank bolts drop onto the table top chain conveyor.
  4. Buckets on the chain carry the bolts up.
  5. The bolts go into the thread rolling machine.

The table top chain with buckets made in our own workshop.

Specifications

  • Length 1,500 mm, width 115 mm
  • Steel plate frame with green coating
  • Stainless table top chain
  • Buckets made in our workshop and mounted on the chain
  • WPA gearbox, ratio 1:20, with a 1 HP motor

We can build the frame of a table top chain conveyor in stainless steel, mild steel or aluminium profile, depending on the plant environment and budget. For PT Insastama we used steel plate with a green coating.

A replacement, not an experiment

PT Insastama has used this kind of conveyor on its line for a long time. This unit is a replacement: the design is already proven with their machines and bolts, so what we built is a new unit ready to go straight to work. It was completed at our Sidoarjo workshop on 24 October 2026 and is ready to ship.

If your plant also moves small metal parts between machines, we can build a table top chain conveyor with buckets like this to fit your parts and machine heights. See also our conveyors and equipment.
