Conveyor Rejector Linked to a Checkweigher: A Carton Line Project at a Coffee Drink Plant

A carton with the wrong weight should never reach the warehouse. On this packing line, our conveyor rejector removes it automatically without stopping the line.

The project

In 2019 we installed a conveyor rejector on the carton packing line of a coffee drink plant. The facility was new at the time, and the plant already knew exactly what it needed: every carton had to pass a weight check before moving on to the next step.

How it works

  1. Cartons enter the checkweigher and are weighed one by one.
  2. The weight limits are set on the checkweigher by the plant.
  3. If a carton is under or over those limits, the checkweigher sends a signal to the rejector.
  4. The pneumatic rejector pushes that carton off to a side lane.
  5. Cartons with the correct weight continue to the next step.

Why everything is stainless

The whole conveyor is made of stainless steel, from the frame and rollers to the reject lane. Food and beverage lines need equipment that does not rust, is easy to clean, and stays in good shape for years.

Compact, just 1 meter

This conveyor rejector is about 1 meter long. Its compact size means it can sit right after the checkweigher without taking up much space on the line.

If your packing line needs to separate off-spec products automatically, we can build a conveyor rejector that fits the machines already on your line. See also our conveyors and equipment.
